Research

Where to start?

Worldwide clinical research is currently being conducted into the healing effect of Psilocybin (active substance) by, among others: Johns Hopkins University, Imperial College London, Universities of Maastricht and Utrecht, MAPS and about 20 other research institutions. Psilocybe mushrooms, executed in 2007 on behalf of the RIVM.

The first scientific studies show promising results. Here is a list of studies that have been completed and studies that are still in progress. We recommend that everyone conduct their own critical research.

You can ask yourself these questions when critically researching and studying sources.

What information is there about the source and how reliable is this source?

Are the claims reasonable or extreme?

What are the influences of bias?

Conflicts of Interest: Very important science bias involved in the health industry

The emotional bias: in addition to subjective experiences, is there also reference to evidence collected with (scientific) methods?

The Confirmation Bias: Look at and investigate conflicting evidence as well. Don't just look at evidence that confirms your own assumptions.

Plant Medicine

With plant medicines it is important to know that there is a lot of misinformation or lack of information due to decades of stigmatization. Meanwhile, more and more people are starting to see the undeniable value, this is essential to guarantee our rights to use these plant medicines.

To introduce you to the now broader range of solid research, we will share here references to important sources from science and the latest publications of prominent researchers in this field. MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies)

MAPS is a non-profit research organization focused on designing medical, legal and cultural contexts so that people can benefit from the responsible use of psychedelics, they have been committed to honest and independent research on various plant medications for 30 years.

ResearchGate

A scientific research machine with which you can find research about plant medicines yourself with the right keywords. When clicking this link you will be forwarded via the search term 'psilocybin', but you can also do this for the other plant medicines. If you do not have (free) access to an article that you are interested in, please send an email to the authors of the study.

PhD Rick Doblin, Founder and Executive Board of MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies) - The Future of Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy

Paul Stamets - Psilocybin mushrooms and the mycology of consciousness

After his Bachelors, Stamets did not continue to study for academic education but immediately started working with his passion for mushrooms. This has made him one of the world's greatest experts in this field and for his work he often collaborates with research institutes.
